For him to do that, it helped me settle in much quicker and made me feel comfortable to be myself around everyone.“That helps me not just off the pitch but also on the pitch too, because I feel like I can be myself, express myself and play with the confidence that I play with back at my club.” Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has suffered a potentially serious injury during England training. The FA has yet to comment on the incident, which occurred during Wednesday morning’s session, but Gomez is understood to be receiving treatment, while the extent of the injury is being assessed. NCAA denies transfer waiver request for defensive tackle Raymon

first_img Published on September 18, 2012 at 9:43 pm Contact Chris: cjiseman@syr.edu | @chris_iseman John Raymon will have to wait to see the field for another year. The Syracuse defensive tackle had his application for a waiver request denied, head coach Doug Marrone said Thursday. The waiver would have allowed him to play this season, without having to sit out a year per NCAA transfer rules.Marrone didn’t mince his words when discussing his disappointment regarding the NCAA’s decision. He said the NCAA has granted the waiver to players in the past, so he said he couldn’t understand why the NCAA denied Raymon’s request.“I don’t agree with the NCAA’s decision, nor do I understand it,” Marrone said. “We believe that the NCAA should’ve granted that waiver, but that’s in the past now. I’ve advised John not to discuss it. This is the last that I will discuss it.”The 6-foot-5, 316 lb. Raymon transferred to Syracuse from Iowa during the summer, but didn’t play in any games while with the Hawkeyes.AdvertisementThis is placeholder textWith the denial of the waiver, he won’t play again until at least 2013.Throughout training camp, head coach Doug Marrone said the team was working with the NCAA to get all the necessary paperwork filed and processed, but repeatedly said he hadn’t heard any further updates regarding the NCAA’s decision. If Raymon had been able to play in 2012, he likely would’ve held a reserve role on Syracuse’s defensive line. During the preseason, the coaches prepared Raymon as if he was going to play, not sit out a year.During most practices, he spent some time off to the side working with Will Hicks, Syracuse’s assistant athletics director for athletic performance, doing strength and conditioning drills to help him get in better shape. The coaches spoke highly of Raymon’s ability and potential during the preseason. On Thursday, Marrone made it clear that the NCAA’s decision to deny the waiver had nothing to do with anything Raymond did.“I will tell you this, though, that John Raymon absolutely has done nothing wrong,” Marrone said. “The fact that he’s attending college, and has survived incredibly difficult challenges in his life, is really a testament to his character and his courage.” Comments Facebook Twitter Google+last_img read more

Sony’s PlayStation 5 design has Twitter bringing out the jokes

first_imgBut the one thing Sony did show was the console’s design, which looks futuristic (and fancy).MORE: A complete guide to the Sony PS5If you notice a little difference, that’s because there is: the console on the left has a disc drive, while the one on the right is solely digital and will house game and content downloads solely. There’s expected to be a bit of a price difference between the two, but nothing official yet. The future of gaming is almost here. But Twitter is always here.Sony revealed the PlayStation 5 during a June 11 live video after months of speculation and delays. The show, which lasted just over an hour, featured tons of game trailers, but no specifics as it pertains to the price, reveal date, features and more. The system once again looks to feature a lot of vents, the ability to be placed vertically or horizontally and signature lighting on it. While the system specs were detailed in a March video, the console architecture of it has yet to be announced.Needless to say, Twitter was reacting to the design of the console accordingly, with loads of humor:Has any product design ever screamed “ugh we have to make one with a disc drive” as loudly as the PS5 https://t.co/xgQQFvFdnF pic.twitter.com/gI24e744jL— nilay patel (@reckless) June 11, 2020That PS5 console design tho pic.twitter.com/oWFM7s8tf3— Stephen A.
